Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) Exam Pattern , Syllabus and Study Materials

Preparations are on for implementing the Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) from April.
The Kerala Administrative Service (KAS), meant to streamline government services and to mould an efficient second-rung officer rank, will come into being on April, the government announced on Tuesday.Govt. of Kerala published the special rules regarding the Kerala Civil Service or Kerala Administrative Service for the year 2018(hese rules may be called the Kerala Administrative Service (KAS) Rules 2017) . As per the order Kerala PSC will be the authority who will publish the Kerala Administrative Service KAS examination official notification.The Kerala Administrative Service will be the top-notch career destination in the government sector in the state and will serve as a feeder category for the Indian Administrative Service.The Kerala Administrative Service will have a strength matching 10 per cent of the second level gazetted vacancies and equivalent vacancies in the common category across the 29 government departments. The second level gazetted posts are on a par with that of a deputy collector.

KAS shall consist of the following categories of officers:
1. KAS Officer (Junior Time Scale)
ii. KAS Officer (Senior Time Scale)
111. KAS Officer (Selection Grade scale)
iv. KAS Officer (Super-time Grade Scale)
(An Officer joining the KAS shall start his career in the Junior Time Scale in the State Service)
Age Limit:
Direct Recruitment (Stream-I): Must have completed 21 years and must not have completed 32 years of age as 1st January of the year in which applications for appointment are invited. Relaxation of upper age limit will be three years in the case of OBC and five years in the case of SC/ST.
Direct Recruitment (Stream-2): Must have completed 21 years and must not have completed 40 years of age as 1st January of the year in which applications for appointment are invited. Relaxation of upper age limit will be three years in the case of OBC and five years in the case of SC/ST.
By Transfer appointment: 50 (upper age limit). Should not have completed 50 years on the first of January of the year in which applications are invited.

Educational Qualification (Common for all category):
A Bachelors degree in any subject from a Govt recognized university.

3) Appointing Authority:
Government shall be the Appointing Authority for KAS.

Salary scale:
Pay scale of a KAS officer will be the highest scale of pay available for the post under a department they are getting now.

Syllabus(Syllabus Is Not Yet Released By PSC):
Tier 1: Preliminary Exam
Tier 2: Main Exam
Tier 3: Interview
